What's Important To You?
3 minute read
When important things are made to be a priority in our lives, it will cause us to say yes to what is of value and no to what is of lower value . We will be lining up our focus and energy with what we really want. We are taking control of our own life.
This is an internal ‘muscle’ that we grow and develop. It is the ability to say no in order to have a higher yes. Like any physical muscle, this “no’ for the higher “yes”, must be exercised.
It begins with discomfort and effort but ends in strength and ease .
Alignment is when my desires and values match my priorities. There is a sense of flow, confidence and achievement when I feel like I am getting somewhere in life. It is a gift to my self that nourishes and builds my inner man.
It is quality self – care.
There is a distress in feeling like we are getting nowhere. Prioritising things that are important to me, that matter and are of high value, is the secret to knowing what direction to take in life and then to create a strategy around what actions are needed to go forward.
It’s not just the hoping I will get to that important thing one day but the decision to focus on what is important to me, to make it a priority before less valuable things, to take hold of it and put it high on the list of my daily actions. It is a change of thinking that creates a change in behaviour that creates a better quality of life.
I encourage you to find what’s important to you and care for yourself in this way.
Flex those muscles!
